Faded Boundaries

Jayfeather is reminded that Lichenkit was one of the cats who had died during leaf-bare. Lichenkit's death was mentioned to be hard on Jayfeather, as she looked almost looked exactly like her father, Lionblaze, and how Lionblaze grieved over his daughter. Jayfeather had grieved for Lichenkit as if she were his own daughter. In addition, when Lilypaw, apprentice of Bramblestar, enters the medicine den to inform Jayfeather that Lionblaze wishes to see him, Jayfeather recalls the image of Lichenkit's frozen body. Not long after, when Silentkit is suggested to be blind, Jayfeather remembers how difficult Cinderheart's kitting had been, and that the three kits were suckling weakly.
